The Mokgomola surname (clan) is the descendant of the Madutlela clan from Sekhukhune, they are Batubatse and part of the Bakone ba ga Matlala and Dikgale through migration and pledging to the Bakone rulers, later on they became the Bakgoma of the Bakone in terms of governance in the kingdom but hold no true ancestry connection to the Ntšhidikgolo lineage such as the Matlala, Dikgale, Ngoepe and Maake clans (surnames)
