Great Motshabapula Moagi was killed by Magarola a Masalanabo Mudjadji when he came to Bolobedu to help Maupa against the influx of Mapono in that area. Magarola/Warriors of Masalanabo accused Motshabapula of taking their wives. They charged at him until he was brought to mortal combat at Letsitele Valley. Maatjawela Moagi was shot while on horseback near Shiluvane mission by the whites who stayed at Shiluvane during the attack instigated against Bakgaga and Muhlava. Pompi Moagi joined ba Mohlala and established his community at Mohlase area of Graskop while his brother Mapinsi went further to Mapulaneng. Seselu/Kheselu/Pelebese moved to Mogoboya section of Tlhabina and fathered Moshohli, there his people were influenced by Balobedu and Mamahlola, thus they adopted the Khelobedu accent. Mmeselane of Tlhapetji remained in Makhutju, Kokoko and died there. His children populated the entire Boroka/Makhutju, present Sekororo and are still there today. Jonas, who was the last born from Mmeselane's generation went to Sekhukhune land and died there. His descendants are found in present Driekop/Diphale and parts of Tubatse. Seberane Moagi (Great-Grandfather of Dios Maatjawela Moagi, author) stayed at Carvenburg mountains also known as Thabeng tja Seberane at Harmony Section. He fought in Rhodesian war and was buried at Ngwabitsi before his children moved to Old Phepene. His brother Makhwele/Molau moved further and established independent homestead at Naphuno which extended to Bolobedu. Oral traditions and story telling is all we have at our own disposal to defend our history and identity. Although their mortal remains are obscured, we continue to remember and pay homage to these heroes who carved our being. The earliest Moagi people who came and settled in Makhutju came from the North West in the area of Rustenburg and are a segment of the Bakgatla people of Tswana^ origin. They adopted the Buffalo totem and came to be known as Banareng Maganyola. Their oral praise line goes, "Maganyola mpopo senene a se na botšheba le motho...". Seberane Moagi (Great-Grandfather of Dios Maatjawela Moagi, author) stayed at Carvenburg mountains also known as Thabeng tja Seberane at Harmony Section. Many of Banareng warriors populated various regions of Boroka/Bopedi extending to M'wamitwa, Mohlase and Mapulaneng. Great Motshabapula Moagi was killed by Magarola a Masalanabo Mudjadji when he came to Bolobedu to help Maupa against the influx of Mapono in that area. Magarola/Warriors of Masalanabo accused Motshabapula of taking their wives. They charged at him until he was brought to mortal combat at Letsitele Valley. Maatjawela Moagi was shot while on horseback near Shiluvane mission by the whites who stayed at Shiluvane during the attack instigated against Bakgaga and Muhlava. Pompi Moagi joined ba Mohlala and established his community at Mohlase area of Graskop while his brother Mapinsi went further to Mapulaneng. Seselu/Kheselu/Pelebese moved to Mogoboya section of Tlhabina and fathered Moshohli, there his people were influenced by Balobedu and Mamahlola, thus they adopted the Khelobedu accent. Mmeselane of Tlhapetji remained in Makhutju, Kokoko and died there. His children populated the entire Boroka/Makhutju, present Sekororo and are still there today. Jonas, who was the last born from Mmeselane's generation went to Sekhukhune land and died there. His descendants are found in present Driekop/Diphale and parts of Tubatse. Seberane Moagi (Great-Grandfather of Dios Maatjawela Moagi, author) stayed at Carvenburg mountains also known as Thabeng tja Seberane at Harmony Section. He fought in Rhodesian war and was buried at Ngwabitsi before his children moved to Old Phepene. His brother Makhwele/Molau moved further and established independent homestead at Naphuno which extended to Bolobedu. Oral traditions and story telling is all we have at our own disposal to defend our history and identity. Although their mortal remains are obscured, we continue to remember and pay homage to these heroes who carved our being. The earliest Moagi people who came and settled in Makhutju came from the North West in the area of Rustenburg and are a segment of the Bakgatla people of Tswana^ origin. They adopted the Buffalo totem and came to be known as Banareng Maganyola. Their oral praise line goes, "Maganyola mpopo senene a se na botšheba le motho...". The wars of conquest drove them from Bokone Bophirima along with Thobela people who established Pedi empire under Thulare to conquer the North. His brother Makhwele/Molau moved further and established independent homestead at Naphuno which extended to Bolobedu. Oral traditions and story telling is all we have at our own disposal to defend our history and identity. Although their mortal remains are obscured, we continue to remember and pay homage to these heroes who carved our being. The earliest Moagi people who came and settled in Makhutju came from the North West in the area of Rustenburg and are a segment of the Bakgatla people of Tswana^ origin. They adopted the Buffalo totem and came to be known as Banareng Maganyola. Their oral praise line goes, "Maganyola mpopo senene a se na botšheba le motho...". The wars of conquest drove them from Bokone Bophirima along with Thobela people who established Pedi empire under Thulare to conquer the North.
